Gary Lane – Managing Director
Gary joined David Kneale Financial Management in 1991, he became a junior partner in 1993 before ultimately taking over the running of the business in 2010. He has various pension and investment qualifications and has a wide experience of dealing with both individuals and businesses. He is one of a limited number of advisers who are authorised to process Final Salary Pension Transfers. He is one of only 185 independent financial advisers in the country who act as Single Joint Expert in divorce cases involving pensions. Gary meets regularly with other professionals to ensure his clients receive coordinated advice. He has two grown up children and spends his spare time walking, running or cycling on the Lakeland fells near his home in Windermere.
Stephen Garner – Director
Stephen joined DKFM in January 2013, having spent the previous 16 years with Zurich Financial Services looking after the IFA community in N.Lancs and Cumbria. Stephen brings with him extensive technical knowledge of investments, Wealth Management, Inheritance Tax Planning, Trusts and Business Protection. He currently lives in Broughton with his wife Sue and his son and daughter. Loves football, tennis, fell walking, skiing, The Lake District and red wine!
Chris Gartside – Business Manager
Chris joined David Kneale Financial Management in 2001 as their Business Manager following a 30 year career with NatWest Bank. During his time with the bank he worked in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester, Preston and latterly his home city of Lancaster where he was brought up and educated. When not involved in financial services, Chris can be found on the family farm at Burton in Kendal. Enjoys fell walking, golf, motoring and music.
Kevan Thorn – Compliance Consultant
Kevan Thorn is the firm’s compliance consultant and he works closely with the firm’s management regarding their objectives to provide quality financial advice. He has extensive experience in the financial services industry including banking, compliance and independent financial advice. He holds the Diploma in Financial Services qualification and has worked in many different roles, so the experience he brings helps the firm to exceed the high standards set by the industry regulator.
